About the Mentor

Andre Roca is an Associate Professor of Skill Acquisition at St Mary's University. After completing his PhD at Liverpool John Moores University and postdoctoral research at the German Sport University Cologne, Andre's research has focused on expert performance, skill acquisition, decision making, creativity, and coaching practice. His work has been featured by the BBC, UEFA, and FIFA. Andre co-leads the Performance and Practice Research Group, serves as an associate editor and advisory board member for leading sport science journals, and is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Alongside his academic career, he brings over 20 years of coaching experience.
